It is important to shake the bottle each time you add more product to the brush (get into the habit of closing the lid each time you use Safe Tan).
Correct use of the brush will ensure perfect results - the foam is separated into two halves by a special plastic divider. This means the product will not soak through to the outer side unless it gets too close to the edges of the brush.

Put a small amount of Safe Tan in the center of the brush and start painting - A few drops will fully paint half a leg. Use the wet side of the brush to apply a wide line of color vertically from the ankle to just below the knee.
Repeat a similar line on both sides of the calf, allowing about 2-3 inches of unpainted skin in between the lines of color. Safe Tan 'beads' on the skin allowing plenty of time to flip the brush over to the dry side for blending.
Pull the color horizontally in a smooth, slow stroke from wet to dry, over and over until you run out of product. Leave dry spots i.e. ankles, knees, elbows, feet and knuckles until the end.

Before painting dry spots there must be very little
color left on the brush.
(to check for undiscovered wet pockets push the brush firmly against an already painted area).
Bend elbows and knees so your skin is stretched tight then lightly pull the dry side of the brush over the unpainted areas moving in the same direction as the lines naturally run.

Place a line of color across the back of the hand, below the knuckles (not over the back edge of the knuckles), and blend up the wrist away from the knuckles. Use the dry side to gently buff the fingers and knuckles until they are lightly colored.

Put one line of color only on the top of your foot, and blend up the leg away from the toes, sides, ankles and heels. Flex feet to paint ankles with the dry side of the brush, checking first for wet pockets

Touch wet brush to forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Use the dry side of the brush to blend, taking Safe Tan up to the hairline.

Inspect thoroughly in a full length mirror and make any corrections. Pay close attention to fingers, palms and feet and remove any unwanted color with a wet warm flannel.
Safe Tan is generally dry to the touch within 5 minutes. Allow 10-12 hours before showering.
Safe Tan lasts all week on the body and 3 days on the face - for a deeper color re-apply the next day.
